On Monday, we had an UO. Although it wasn't as efficient as having usrah face-to-face, it was still useful.

Kak Naz was discussing about surah al-'Adiyat (surah 100), from Verse 1 till 5.

Al-'Adiyat = Kuda Perang, THE COURSER, THE CHARGERS

Verse 1: By the
(Steeds) that run, with panting (breath),
Verse2: Striking sparks of fire
(by their hooves),
Verse 3: And scouring to the raid at dawn,
Verse 4:
And raise the dust in clouds the while,
Verse 5: Penetrating forthwith as
one into the midst (of the foe);

At first it seems like we were just talking about war horses. And honestly, I couldn't relate with the horses.

However, Kak Naz said we should think of ourselves as a war steed in war.

From Verse 1: A war steed wasn't born a war steed. It had to be trained to become one. Likewise, we have to train ourselves by seeking knowledge and understanding.

This can be done by joining usrah and other useful meetings. Learn as much as you can. Understand. Keep your iman high. Read books. Watch useful documentaries.

This is your preparation.

From Verse 2: Striking fire with hooves. That means you try to strike fear withing the hearts of your enemies.

Imagine a big horse running towards you with flaming hooves. That's one scary creature right?

So here we're trying to be as fierce as said horse.

And I said this, "Orang tak gerun tengok muka saya kak..."

NO!

It's not just about striking fear, but also to show people how resolute you are towards Islam.

Senang cakap bahasa Melayu: Gerunkan orang dengan ketegasan kita dalam Islam.

Be like Umar. Like Sumaiyyah. Like people in Badr!

Keep your stance! Be resolute! Be determined. Cilok Hilal Asyraf dari buku dia, "Islam itu tinggi,
takda apa yang lebih tinggi dari Islam."

So if Islam is so high, prove it with your speech and words, with your actions, with your everything.

Tegakkan syariat Islam tu.

Verse 3: Appreciate the Subuh time. It's a time full of baroqah! Don't waste your Subuh away!

Huhu. This is hard for me, a person who sleeps after Subuh...

Verse 4: The steeds ran with such speed that white clouds emerged from the dust.

That means the steeds ran hella very fast. So should you. You need a clear aim/mission, then do your best to execute that mission.

Don't be quickly satisfied with mediocrities.

If you're in a race, don't be satisfied just by ending the race. End the race by grabbing the first place. Get the medal. Not just any medals, but the GOLD medal.

Aim for the best. And subsequently you'll do your best.

To summarize, Verses I-4 talk about the characteristics of a Muslim:

1. Seek knowledge and understanding first to prepare yourself.
2. Then Strike fear/respect from others by being resolute about Islam.
3. Appreciate Subuh time
4. Have a clear and good mission. Execute your mission wholeheartedly.

Once you have these characteristics, you can approach your target. This is where Verse 5 comes in.
